I’m not going to sugarcoat it. The numbers are hard right now. The Republican gubernatorial candidates, millionaires and billionaires in a faceoff with each other, have flooded the airwaves. Their spending has elevated GOP awareness and driven Republican turnout sky-high across the district.
But here’s what matters: the data for SD-7 specifically is tighter than the broader district picture suggests. Our voters are here. They are ready. But we need to continue amplifying that this runoff race is happening.
In moments like this, I think of my hero, Congressman John R. Lewis. He never gave up. He never gave in. We have never made progress by sitting back and tapping out, even when the mountain seemed insurmountable.
Our dear Gwinnett has been gerrymandered again and again, because they fear our power and work to suppress it. Every door you knock, every call you make, every text you send is a direct act of defiance against that.
